Sandy Springs is home to 16 parks and greenspaces spanning over 950 acres. Every year Sandy Springs organizes the Sandy Springs Festival, Sandy Springs Artapalooza, Stars and Stripes Celebration and the Chattahoochee River Summer Slash. The Sandy Springs Festival is the largest of the four and is the main fundraiser for Heritage Sandy Springs. It is filled with community bands, Kiwanis Pet Parade, Doug Kessler Lighting 10K/5K race, bungee jumps, crafts and activities, business expos and a food court. On top of all the awesome festivities, Sandy Springs has sports & leisure programs, youth camps, outdoor activities and citizen volunteer programs that the city encourages its residents to partake in!
